At Far East Gems & Jewellery, we supply all kinds of gemstones to retailers and private customers. We have qualified gemologists to check every gemstone that comes through our hands. This is to make sure you get what you paid for!

All our gemstones go through very stringent quality tests. We make sure that every gem is of good colour, acceptable clarity and optimal cut. We also make sure that the gemstones are either free from treatment or treated with legitamate treatment.

We specialise in rubies & sapphires so we have a good selection of unheated rubies ranging from 0.5ct – 6ct, unheated blue sapphires from 2ct – 15ct. We also deal we all sorts of gemstones such as tourmaline, garnet, tanzanite, kunzite, orthoclase, chrysoberyl, precious topaz, spinel, amethyst, zircon, apatite, chrysophase, turquoise, peridot, danburite and many more.

Our customers also like to buy rare gemstones like Alexandrite, Paraiba Tourmaline, colour change Zircon, etc. from us.

History

Far East Gems & Jewellery has come a long way from where it started. We started in 1990 at our showroom at Tanglin Shopping centre.

At that time we were called Elvin Gems, during this time, the business was ran by Mr Tay Thye Sun. Our clientel was mainly expatriates and most of them liked our jewellery design, jewellery crafting quality and the quality of our gemstones.

As Mr Tay Thye Sun love for gems grew, he decided to focus on research and teaching. So he left Elvin Gems to his wife to run. They decided to close down the business so that Mrs Tay could put more time and energy to raise up their children.

In 2007, their son decided to take over the business, which is now known as Far East Gems & Jewellery.
